Downstream Purification Lab Support Technician

We are looking for a Lab Support Technician to help the Gene Therapy Purification Development team at Novartis. This laboratory-based role will help facilitate the studies that are needed to get life-saving treatments to patients. The technician will help maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the lab by completing routine cleaning, stocking, and maintenance/calibration activities. Additionally, they will have responsibilities for preparing materials and setting up equipment for upcoming studies.

Responsibilities
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory space
· Complete calibration and preparative maintenance for laboratory equipment, including Cytiva AKTA, benchtop pH and conductivity probes, and biosafety cabinets
· Preparing and filtering buffers for experiments
· Staging materials for studies
· Sample management
· Additional responsibilities possible as candidate grows in role

Requirements
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biotechnology or related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
· Organized and highly detailed
· Strong communication and collaboration
· Ability to safely complete the standing, bending, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and fine motor skill tasks associated with working full time in a laboratory setting

Desired Requirements
· Experience managing laboratory operations

Location: Durham, NC (Onsite-5 days)
Pay Rate: $20.68 - $25.42/hr based on experience and qualifications (W2 Only)
Contract: 6-month
