2026 IDS Summer Intern – Data Strategy

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Graduate level Summer Associate to join the US Data Strategy team. This internship offers hands on exposure to how US Data Strategy is developed across brands and functional areas through data landscaping, capability assessment, integrated data and tokenization initiatives, and cross functional collaboration. You will work closely with Data Partnerships, Governance, Standards & Monitoring, and Enablement teams to support the development and operationalization of strategic data approaches that enable business impact.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the development of brand data strategies by translating business priorities and use cases into clear data needs, identifying capability gaps, and synthesizing findings into structured strategy deliverables.
• Assist in creating functional area data strategies, aligning data requirements with broader US Data Strategy priorities and organizational capabilities.
• Conduct data landscaping and assessments, including evaluation of existing datasets, overlap analysis, quality considerations, and fit for purpose recommendations.
• Support integrated data and tokenization workstreams, including multi source data linkage, patient level tokenization solutions, and documentation of operating models and partnership implications.
• Collaborate with Data Partnerships to ensure alignment between strategy and partnership evaluations, onboarding workflows, and vendor landscape analyses.
• Partner with Governance, Standards & Monitoring to embed data quality, standards, compliance, and lifecycle management considerations into strategic recommendations.
• Contribute to maintaining a centralized view of enterprise data partners and datasets, helping increase transparency and reduce redundant vendor outreach.

Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Health Informatics, Public Health, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources.
• Interest in data strategy, healthcare data ecosystems, vendor management, or data partnership processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple workstreams.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with healthcare, life sciences, or pharmaceutical data (e.g., claims, EMR, lab, specialty pharmacy, provider, or patient data)
• Experience working with or studying vendor management, contracting processes, or operating models
• Exposure to data governance, data quality, or compliance considerations
• Comfort working in cross‑functional environments with Legal, Procurement, Technology, and Business teams
• Experience creating structured documentation, process flows, or presentation materials
