2026 IDS Summer Intern – Field Capability Development & Innovation
Year of graduation : 2026/2027
Job Description
The Summer Associate will play a hands-on role supporting the Field Portfolio Insights & Orchestration pillar within the IDS Field Insights & Analytics team. Their primary responsibilities will focus on high-impact projects tied to the design and advancement of future-state field orchestration and capability development. In addition, the intern will dedicate approximately 20% of their time to supporting other strategic workstreams across the Field Portfolio Insights & Orchestration pillar, ensuring full exposure to the pillar’s broader scope and accelerating their overall learning and development.
Major Activities
Capability Development & Workflow Innovation
• Support design of future-state field personas and CRM workflows by translating business needs into structured requirements.
• Assess current field capabilities to identify gaps and opportunities for innovation using AI, automation, and process engineering.
• Document end-to-end process flows across CE, NPS, Medical, and account planning domains.
Advanced Analytics & Business Process Improvement
• Partner with analytics teams to evaluate and prototype AI-enabled field process automations.
• Perform exploratory analysis on workflow, CRM, and operations datasets.
• Support development and testing of AI-enabled tools such as smart call notes and intelligent workflow routing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Insights Integration
• Collaborate with IDS Capability Centers.
• Integrate perspectives from CE, NPS, Medical Affairs, and Field Ops partners.
• Prepare summaries with insights and recommendations.
Leadership Engagement & Storytelling
• Create materials for senior leadership.
• Translate complex analytical and operational concepts into accessible business narratives.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Actively pursuing an MBA, Master’s, or PhD in Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Operations Research, Process Engineering, Business, Healthcare Management, Behavioral Science, Human-Centered Design, or related fields.
Technical Skills
• Experience with Python, R, SQL, Alteryx/Dataiku or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, including agent creation and agentic system design.
• Experience in Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) and workflow optimization.
• Exposure to product development in analytics or capability-building environments.
• Strong foundation in Operations Research and Statistical Modeling.
• Experience with feature engineering for analytical or ML workflows.
• Ability to analyze structured and unstructured process/operations data.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, automation, and intelligent workflow design.
Soft Skills & Mindset
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• High learning agility, curiosity, and passion for innovation.
Preferred Competencies
• Experience with process engineering, operational excellence, or lean methodologies.
• Exposure to CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
• Background in AI-enabled workflow design and automation.
• Familiarity with field operations, commercial strategy, or omnichannel workflows.
• Experience applying design thinking methodologies.

• Contribute to next-generation field orchestration capabilities using AI and advanced analytics.
• Support creation of scalable frameworks, data requirements, and workflow models.
• Strengthen operational efficiency across CE, NPS, Medical, and hybrid field models.

Pay Rate: Based on level of education/experience (W2 Only)
