Job Description
We are looking for a passionate intern to join our custom labware & in vitro assays team to help us develop the next generation of 3D phenotypic screening tools. Novartis engineers will provide training on all subjects. 

Responsibilities may include:
· Designing, molding, and assembling custom plastic, silicone, and metal labware and microfluidic devices for use in pre-clinical discovery experiments.
· Using 3D/2D CAD and 3D printing tools to design lab hardware, molds, and testing equipment.
· Developing and preforming hands-on iterative experiments to test and validate labware functionality and biocompatibility.
·Creating protocols for high throughput screening instruments such as liquid handlers, high content imagers, and robotic arms to interact with custom labware and devices.
·Documenting fabrication protocols, experimental results, and CAD designs in M.S. Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc..) and recording excellent laboratory notes.
·Learning quickly, adapting, and improving your engineering skills in an industrial research lab setting.
· Collaborating with full-time engineers, biologists, chemists, and machinists to contribute to drug discovery efforts.

Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $21 - $27 hour based on experience and qualifications (W2 Only)
Contract: 6-month
