Novartis BioMedical Research (BR) is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on powerful new technologies that have the potential to produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.
We are seeking applications for a Research Associate position in Oncology Drug Discovery Pharmacology. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, motivated, and ambitious scientist looking to build on a successful career in a dynamic, fast-paced drug discovery environment.

Major accountabilities include:
• Conducting a range of in vivo pharmacology studies in rodents, using imaging technologies such as ultrasound, micro-CT, bioluminescence, and MRI to evaluate tumor biology and assess the effects of novel therapeutic candidates
• Independently planning, executing, analyzing, and interpreting experiments as an in vivo pharmacologist, under the guidance of a lab head
• Collaborating closely with pharmacologists and cross-functional expert teams across the global Oncology Drug Discovery Research organization and beyond

Minimum requirements:
• MSc, BSc or qualified Lab Technician (apprenticeship/vocational training) in Pharmacology, Cellular Biology, or other relevant discipline
• Basic education in laboratory animal science: LTK Module 1 or equivalent
• Hands-on experience conducting in vivo studies in mice
• Experience with cellular and molecular biology methods, such as qRT PCR, immunoblotting, cell culture, transient and stable cell line generation, and ELISA
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to work independently within a global team
• Experience with basic bioinformatics tools for experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation is an advantage
• Knowledge of cancer biology and signaling pathways is preferred
• Experience working successfully in a high productivity, high quality research environment
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate in an interdisciplinary team environment and across sites
• Highly collaborative and self-motivated team player
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Workload: 40 hours/week
Role type: Onsite
Required start date: 1 June 2026
Contract: 6 months
