Role Overview:
EVOLUTION is a $82+ million investment program to replace core technology used in our clinical trial data operations. The investment is to implement 2 new technology platforms (kick off in November 2025), including integrations to all required existing technology systems and tools and migration of all existing trial data into the new technologies. The program is a complex matrix structure with 60+ internal personnel and 3 main external partner companies providing either the technology or technical and change management expertise to support delivery of the full implementation. Included will also be large scale process changes for the GCO CDO organization, where the program leads delivery of change management, training and communications to ensure adoption of the new technology by the end users. This new technology will impact over 1000 end users in Novartis delivering our core clinical trial data. Due to the very large and complex nature of this program and criticality to deliver on time (Q1-Q2 2027) – specific expertise are required to ensure delivery success.
SIT (GCO) is the hiring function that is responsible and accountable for the delivery of new technology implementation. The function liases with External technology & IT services and internal DDIT and business functions to deliver the program. 

The role requires experience in:
 1) Large scale IT program delivery 
2) Large scale platform implementation 
3) Leadership and management of DDIT and business function teams 
4) Experience in delivery of critical internal Novartis processes, as part of technology implementation 
5) Experience in GXP system compliance 
6) Experience in large platform integrations 
7) Deep knowledge of core business function, Clinical Data Operations, including processes, ways of working and current technology landscape as well as future processes as an impact of the new technology implementation 
8) Experience in wide scale change management across an extensive workforce (500+ personnel) 
9) Demonstrated leadership of program in collaboration with senior leadership roles as part of program governance and steering committees.

Role Details:
1. Support the EVOLUTION Program Leadership Team with leadership, oversight and delivery of large program deliverables including Novartis owned processes and external partner technical deliverables
2. Support large program management and IT-business partnering expertise and coaching, primarily through independent sounding board for program team (consisting of 60+ personnel (internal and external)), focused on strategy, approaches of program delivery and ideation to overcome complex technology implementation challenges to workable solutions.
3. Provide guidance, oversight and facilitation for engagement and collaboration with EVOLUTION external program partners to ensure Novartis’ program and design leadership role.
4. Review EVOLUTION program plans and activities and ensure continued focus of technology activities to deliver business value and impact, supporting on time delivery of milestones and achievement of target Go-Live
5. Drive leadership visibility and transparency on plans and actions for active engagement of users and stakeholders to facilitate adoption of new ways of working, for successful testing, training and adoption of newly implemented technologies
6. Support the SIT TP CDO Head and EVOLUTION Program Leadership on progressing the digital transformation ambitions (e.g. DDF, industry standard concepts)
