The Summer External Student Worker, Program Launch and Operational Excellence
The student will be responsible for supporting the implementation and new development of practical frameworks, tools, methodologies, and processes to drive excellence in pre & post launch execution across all Novartis Patient Support programs. This individual will partner closely with Associate Director/Director of Program Launch and Operational Excellence to oversee strategic planning and implementation including new product launches, brand transitions to our in-house Service Center, or significant program improvements.
Major Activities
• Support creation and implementation of tools that both simplify and accelerate the quality and timeliness of launch preparation.
• Assist in establishing a consistent, reliable, repeatable approach for launch excellence for all patient support programs.
• Support all NPS teams and in-house Service Center transformation initiatives pre and post launch to plan, implement, and operationalize patient support programs and services through key frameworks, processes, and best practices, including lifecycle management enhancement and changes.
• Cross functional alignment through stakeholders including Vendor Management, Contracting, Finance, Operational Excellence, Performance Excellence, Quality and Launch Excellence.
• Partner with Associate Director/Director to ensure launch & business operational excellence and proper compliance of patient support programs and services – including HUB services, call center operations, specialty pharmacy, co-pay, free goods & treatment onboarding support, adherence, clinical services, and innovative partnerships, etc.
• Support the ongoing evaluation of key programs and processes for NPS across the portfolio with cross-functional stakeholder inputs, including but not limited to Disease State Teams, Data & Analytics, Vendor Management and other NPS teams
• Partner with Associate Director/Director to ensure successful program implementation, operations, and compliance for assigned projects through cross-functional partnership within and outside the organization. Ensure program launch & change is done with proper monitoring, auditing and quality assurance of patient support programs and services
• Develop and maintain knowledge of various methodologies, regulations, processes, timelines, and general approach underlying the company’s current and potential products/support services
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION
• Candidate should be attending an accredited degree-granting college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business or Healthcare program preferred.
LANGUAGES - Fluent in English (oral and written)
COMPETANCIES:
• Excel in problem solving and strategic thinking. Develop innovative, resourceful solutions to complex, unstructured problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Strength in translating complex, analyses into clear and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Experience strategic planning, change management or project management experience relevant to implementing programs or transformation initiatives.
• Able to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and partners across the organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, prioritize multiple projects/tasks, analyze problems, identify alternative solutions and implement recommendations for resolution.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience applying design thinking principles.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and action-oriented environment.
• Self-starter! Ability to be given direction and run with it.

• Improve patient experience in our support programs measured by improvement in key metrics around starting & staying on therapy
• Improve customer satisfaction by determining patient sentiment & needs and identify opportunities to uptrain customer facing teams.
Location: East Hanover, NJ (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $22 - $34/hr based on skills/qualifications (W2 Only)
Contract: 2-3 months
