Consultant, Editorial Planner
The Content Lab
Job Purpose:
The Consultant, Creative & Editorial Planning will be responsible for bringing full creative powers to bear to identify, execute on and amplify innovative approaches to brand storytelling. This position will serve as a creative lead for key content marketing editorial work and report directly to the Executive Director, Editorial Planning Lead for US innovative medicine brands. The role will collaborate closely with the Content Strategy team to provide support to a select group of priority brands to elevate quality across creative campaigns, media co-creation partnerships, patient and HCP videos and other content. The role also will lead in creating best-in-class guidelines and practices for video and editorial storytelling that can be applied across the brand portfolio and among our agency partners.
Responsibilities include:
Embed with AOR and media partners as creative consultant/guide in developing innovative and captivating concepts for integrated marketing content on behalf of Novartis that align with our purpose, vision, and objectives.
Advise and input on the development of compelling storytelling across various mediums, ensuring that content resonates with target HCP and DTC audiences.
Partner with external agencies, media partners and internal brand and marketing partners in support of higher-quality content and creative, including but not limited to patient videos, scripts, photography, websites, co-created content, and infographics.
Inform agencies and other external partners in support of higher-quality content programming, including reviewing briefs, editing content such as key messaging, patient stories, video and audio scripts and other key deliverables.
Attend campaign, patient video and other shoots as a creative consultant/partner to agency/media creative and production partners.
Improve editorial strategy and overall content quality, highlighting best-in-class creative practices through content guide plans, lunch & learns and brand partnerships opportunities.
Develop relationships of trust and collaboration with brand marketing strategy, agency and media partners to elevate quality and better convey behavioral strategies and brand messages.
Leverage expertise in a C role in the DACI to influence and improve quality of briefs, scripts, storyboards and other key deliverables in the story-making process from end to end.
Minimum requirements, and what you’ll bring to the role:
10-12 years of experience in a creative role, preferably within an agency or brand studio.
Proven track record of leading successful integrated campaigns across multiple platforms.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work, including video, digital experiences, social campaigns, and shortform docu-style content.
Strategic thinker with a keen understanding of branding and storytelling.
Proven creative track record creating innovative content that achieved customer engagement KPIs and brand business objectives.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams across the organization to deliver high-impact content programs.
Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency and comfortability with all aspects of video production, with experience leading video shoots and working with AV and post-production teams.
Excellent structured communication skills and ability to frame complex technical concepts to facilitate discussion and deeper levels of understanding across departments.
Understanding of and passion for wellness, health & lifestyle coverage. Some pharma experience preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing, Production, Journalism or related field is preferred.
This role can be remote. In-person attendance required for key internal meetings and selected shoots. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager.

Pay Rate: $90 - $110/hour based on experience and qualifications
