Technician Science & Technology
The Technician Science and Technology (Sample and Lab Operations), is responsible for managing and tracking samples and laboratory tasks associated with the Technical Research and Development laboratory (TR&D) team.
Responsibilities:
Manages internal and external lab testing performed by TR&D including contracting and invoicing.
Assists with various lab operations including buffer preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
Assists with the management of long-term and short-term sample forecasts.
Manages sample logistics for internal and external testing labs.
Data management, including gathering and reporting data from testing labs to the requestor as well scanning and filing various documentation.
Looks for opportunities to implement operation excellence and continuous improvement.
Manages material requests and sample inventory.
Proactively communicates status, issues, and actions to appropriate parties.
Adheres to all EH&S policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred or a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in sample management/lab operations in lieu of degree.
Experience with project management systems, LIMS, and other operational/organizational planning tools.
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively across different functions within the organization.
Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Location: Durham, NC (Onsite Role)
Pay Rate: $19 to $22/hour based on experience and qualifications
Contract: 18 months
