Role purpose:

Our team has an exciting opportunity available for a Training Expert / Consultant (or similar) with a background and experience in developing and delivering 'train the trainer' programs (or similar) to join our team for 6 months on a specific purpose project.

The ideal candidate should have a background and experience in delivering learning programs, curricula and materials across a variety of formats (i.e., print, online, and assessments) – preferably within a large matrixed organization.

Within a globally distributed sales and marketing team, they will be expected to collaborate with SMEs and Key Stakeholders on the project. Working with these groups, they will need to surface, analyze and implement learning needs, goals, objectives, outcomes, assessment criteria and methods. They will then need to leverage the results of any needs analysis exercises to design, coordinate and implement a 'train the trainer' program.

The successful applicant will need to be knowledgeable and experienced in the application of in-room training, facilitation, coaching, and the application of learning models and processes (e.g., ADDIE, VARK, etc.). They will also need to recognize how and when to be pragmatic and flexible in the design and delivery of learning solutions in the context of large change initiatives and/or a workforce transformation process.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Lead and act as first point of contact for all project related Train-the-Trainer targets, objectives, tasks and activities.
  • Support other project leadership roles in the wider management of resources, targets, objectives, and tasks.
  • Coordinate with SMEs, key stakeholders, and the wider team to surface the business needs/problems; identify resulting learning needs, learning participants’ profiles, and any learning evaluation / assessment methods and criteria to implement as part of any subsequent Train-the-Trainer learning solutions.
  • Work with the SMEs, Key Stakeholders, and wider team to coordinate the Train-the-Trainer learning solution design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
  • Work in partnership with Instructional Designers (IDs) and Multimedia Developers in the end-to-end development of any/all in-room training, live-online training, physical and printable learning content / supporting resources.
  • Drive best practices and process improvements within the project and across the wider team and organization.
  • Ensure real / case studies are embedded in the training resources and program (for example, commercial operations field force interactions).

Education / Experience:

  • 4+ years Training Expert / Consultancy experience (with / within a similar type of large matrixed style organization).
  • Otherwise, 6+ years Training Expert/Consultancy experience.
  • Proven experience working remotely and in on-site locations is crucial.
  • Experienced at reviewing learning needs analysis and implementing subsequent train-the-trainer solutions and methods of assessment.
  • Thorough experience leading the design and implementation of in-room learning / training support materials and resources (for example, workbooks).
  • Experience in designing, consulting on and managing training assessments.
