This role is part of the Creative Strategy team within the CE&C International organization - a collection of innovative, passionate talent focused on designing and deploying personalized and outcome-oriented customer experiences grounded in deep insights and human-centered design.

As a creative strategist (ext) you will be the heart, mind and hands-on-keyboard behind creative briefs for some of our biggest brands. You’ll join a team of craft-led experts applying their skill in-house to raise the standard of marketing campaigns in the industry—and you should be hungry to shake up the creative norms in pharma.

As both a thinker and doer driving the creative process, you will apply your experience in brand strategy/account planning to all aspects of campaign development for 3-4 products. This is an individual contributor role: you will have end responsibility for writing the creative brief & delivering the briefing. But you will collaborate with internal NVS experts & external agencies to get there, accelerating our speed-to-market. Beyond the brief, you will lead creative development, embedding with the agency to refine concepts for initial review by NVS stakeholders and readying selected concepts for hand-off to market research. You will then follow concepts through field testing and help drive the larger analysis, concept optimization & matrixed decision-making process that informs final concept selection.

This role is a critical function that sits at the intersection of business strategy, clinical acumen and creative inspiration, delivering on the promise of Creative Strategy to up-level campaigns while maintaining strategic integrity. You will help develop the Big Idea that fuels breakthrough campaigns and lives beyond adlobs, across touchpoints & activations. All in service of improving and extending patients’ lives.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
In partnership with the ED & Director, Creative Strategy you will:
· Own the development of Big Idea campaign briefs using NVS tools and templates, with primary responsibility for briefing our agency partners using best practices
· Develop detailed creative audits to strategically define the opportunity space for our brands
· Lead day-to-day agency management throughout the creative process, working alongside representatives from creative, strategy & account in brief development, creative concepting, concept refinement & socialization
· Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including the Customer Content Strategist (CCS) and Therapeutic Area (TA) leads at each step in creative development
· Partner with our insights team in the end-to-end process of market research: preparing concepts for testing, consulting on the development of effective discussion guides, actively listening & contributing during stakeholder interviews, developing & implementing decision trees to inform campaign selection
· Support other members of the Creative Strategy team in cross-functional co-creation and socialization, including leading working sessions, recapping decisions & generating a record of next steps to keep creative development on track
· Work with dedicated project managers to shape project plan, balance internal & external milestones and ensure timely delivery of assets

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years in a creative strategy role at an organization with responsibility to deliver creative assets, preferably an agency serving healthcare clients
A passion for creative development & storytelling; proven track record for developing through-provoking briefs that challenge healthcare norms and drive belief & behavior shifts
Ability to work across multiple brands, across therapeutic areas, simultaneously
A comfort with high-science and ability to get up-to-speed on a product/category data & claims, competitive context and market conditions fast
A deep understanding of the HCP audience—“what makes them tick”—and how it influences their decision-making
Familiarity with the pharmaceutical marketing ecosystem (print, web, social media/display, sales force, conventions/physical installations) & requirements, restrictions of promotion to an HCP
Comfortable developing & delivering complete decks, start to finish, as an individual contributor
A deep understanding of “what good looks like” in pharmaceutical marketing—and hunger to raise the bar

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent collaboration & communication skills
