Role Purpose:
To develop our growing pipeline of bio pharmaceutical products
we are looking for an Associate Scientist or Scientist in the field of biologics upstream process development who will support the development of cell culture processes for therapeutic protein manufacture as well as the evaluation of new technologies in this field.

Main Responsibilities:
• Support the advancement of efficient, high-yield, robust, and scalable fermentation processes for novel biological entities.
• Assist in enhancing and intensifying fed-batch and continuous perfusion cell culture processes, from the initial vial break to the final harvest, encompassing both seed and main bioreactor stages. Assist in evaluating and implementing new upstream process equipment and technologies.
• Design and conduct parallel cell culture experiments at lab scale, from small to bench-top, utilizing cutting-edge disposable and glass bioreactor technologies.
• Take on the responsibility for the maintenance of USP and process analytical laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Design, plan and execute USP lab activities, primarily parallel fermentation experiments, in our lab scale (?10 L) facility using state of the art disposable and glass bioreactor technology.
• Document experimental data in the designated data management systems. Analyze, interpret, and present findings to functional experts and for USP development purposes.

Main Requirements:
• Apprenticeship in chemical or biotechnological development or manufacturing with relevant industry experience.
• Laboratory or plant experience with (bio)reactors (desirable: knowledge in upstream processing with mammalian cell cultures, preferably with shake flasks, wave and/or stirred bioreactors)
• Intrinsic curiosity, willingness to embrace changing responsibilities with agility and grow in related areas of expertise
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a matrix organization.
• Fluency in English or German (oral & written) (desirable: good command of both languages)
