Summer External Associate - Study and Site Operations/GCO

With over 400 active trials globally, Novartis Global Clinical Operations (GCO) Trial Management feels privileged to bring together and manage all aspects of clinical trial operations reaching around 50,000 patients worldwide.

The Clinical Biospecimen group within Global Clinical Operations provides support to Global Drug Development by ensuring the right biological samples are collected from the right patients at the right time and stored under the right conditions to support future research with the aim of delivering better medicines to patients.

Role Summary:
The candidate will work closely with the Sample Manager to support operations in the Novartis East Hanover Biorepository, gaining hands‑on experience in scientific operations and clinical trial management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support day‑to‑day biorepository operations including receipt, accessioning, processing, and storage of biological samples
• Consolidation of biospecimens across controlled temperature units
• Assist with sample destruction and associated documentation

Learning Objectives:
• Experience with biospecimen and data management processes
• Exposure to project management principles
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance, Good Documentation Practice (GDP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Minimum Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a US‑accredited undergraduate degree program (Life Sciences preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Comfort working with potentially infectious materials and use of PPE
• Ability to occasionally lift/move racks and shipping boxes (up to 30#)
• Previous laboratory experience preferred

Location: East Hanover, NJ  (Onsite) (~~Open to local candidates only, please~~)
Pay Rate: $24/hour (W2 Only - based on Education and Experience) - (Rising Sophomore or Junior Status ONLY)
Contract: 2-month
